AI-ready product design · Workflow UX · Product adoption
For messy systems,
real people, and
stubbornly good ideas.
I'm Niss Berry — a senior product designer who turns complex workflows, hidden product logic, and overwhelming user journeys into calmer, clearer experiences people can understand, adopt, and trust.
Currently focused on B2B SaaS, product adoption, workflow UX, and AI-ready tools that help people understand what to do next.
Supervised by Lumi, a pink-nosed rescue cat with strong opinions about clarity.
Things I’m suspiciously good at
Most of my work comes back to the same thing: helping people make sense of messy systems, unclear logic, complicated workflows, and the little moments where users quietly get stuck.
- Systems thinking
Workflow untangling
Finding the hidden dependencies, awkward handoffs, and “why is this so hard?” moments inside complex products — then turning them into flows people can actually follow.
- Adoption
Product adoption UX
Designing the guidance, structure, content, and onboarding moments that help users understand what to do next, why it matters, and how to keep moving.
- AI workflows
AI-ready product thinking
Using AI to speed up research, structure, content, prototyping, and decision-making — while keeping human judgment firmly in the loop.
- UI systems
Interface clarity
Creating calm, consistent interface patterns that reduce noise, support scanning, and help teams ship without making the product feel generic.
- Product language
Human translation
Turning dev logic, stakeholder needs, business goals, and user frustration into shared product direction everyone can actually understand.
- Team practice
Mentorship & team calm
Helping people steady their nerves, recover quickly, ask better questions, demo with confidence, and advocate for users with a stronger voice.
Most of my work starts with one question: what is the user being asked to understand before the product has earned that effort?

Scenario Shelf
Three very different problems, connected by the same instinct: understand what people are being asked to carry, make the complexity visible, and create a clearer way forward.
Each scenario shows a different side of how I work — designing product education, supporting learning and development, and turning uncertainty into something a team can see, test and improve together.
01 / Product education
Bluehook Resource Academy
Learning experience · Content architecture · Product adoption
Turning scattered product knowledge into a self-serve learning experience people could scan, trust and return to.
Useful training material, walkthroughs, support guidance and videos already existed, but users depended too heavily on someone knowing what to send, when to send it and where it lived.
The Niss move: Treated education as part of the product experience — structuring the learning journey, creating clearer entry points, and producing short how-to content across desktop and mobile.

02 / Learning experience
WombatWords
EdTech · Therapy support · Child-centred UX
Designing a learning experience that needed to work for both the therapist guiding it and the child living through it.
The product had to support professional therapeutic goals while still feeling understandable, encouraging and engaging for children.
The Niss move: Balanced structure with warmth — translating therapist needs into a simpler, more playful experience without removing the professional control behind it.

03 / Collaborative execution
Cash Connect
Fintech · Rapid prototyping · Product teamwork
Turning a complicated operational challenge into something a small team could see, test, question and rebuild together.
A three-person team worked across late-night calls, focused in-person workshops, paper-covered meeting-room walls and rough prototypes held together by sticky notes.
The Niss move: Made uncertainty tangible. We drew, challenged, rearranged and rebuilt the experience in real time — changing direction quickly whenever the evidence showed us something better.

A tiny SWOT analysis of Niss
A small, mildly suspicious look at how I show up in product teams.
Strengths
what shows up on a good day- Calms chaos
- Learns fast
- Leads gently
- Asks better questions
- Turns messy systems into understandable flows
- Cares deeply about the human on the other side
Weaknesses
the honest small print- Will absolutely ask “why?” five times
- May over-care about edge cases
- Has rescue-cat energy
- Dangerous tolerance for side quests
- Compliments may bounce off her forehead before being accepted
Opportunities
where I do my best work- AI-ready product teams
- B2B SaaS onboarding
- Workflow-heavy tools
- Healthcare education
- Product adoption
- Design mentorship
- Building tools for people overwhelmed by systems
Threats
things that drain the magic- Vague briefs
- Loud dashboards
- Jargon pretending to be strategy
- Products that expect users to think like developers
- A small pink-nosed cat demanding attention mid-flow
Archive
Masterpieces are being framed.
I'm currently curating the pieces that deserve homepage real estate. For now, the full Archive Wall holds the broader collection — experiments, visual systems, product moments, and Behance-style design work gathered in one place.
Backstory
Not yet — give me a week.
That was my answer when a software company asked if I knew Bootstrap.
I didn't come into product design through a clean, shiny front door. I found my way in through admin work, WordPress storefronts, HTML for Dummies, late-night curiosity, and a childhood dream of animation that never fully left me.

Got a messy workflow, an adoption problem, an AI-shaped idea, or a product that feels harder to use than it should?
I'd love to help make it clearer, calmer, and a little more human.
Lumi may also accept compliments, but only in the form of nose boops.
